Recommended Doses
Based on 18,563 gal pool volume.
3 lb of soda ash (sodium carbonate)
pH 7 is acidic. Add soda ash to reach ~7.4.
10.5 lb of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)
TA 60 ppm is low. Low alkalinity causes pH bounce. Add baking soda to reach ~100 ppm.
35 lb of calcium chloride
CH 150 ppm is low (especially important for plaster pools). Add calcium chloride to reach ~300 ppm.
3.5 lb of cyanuric acid conditioner
CYA 20 ppm is low. Without stabilizer, sunlight burns off chlorine fast. Add conditioner to reach ~40 ppm.
Disclaimer: These are approximate dosages based on industry averages. Always add chemicals with the pump running, never mix chemicals directly, and retest after 30–60 minutes. For a precise reading, bring a water sample to our store for free computerized water testing.
